Trust

It is impossible to go through life without trust: That is to be imprisoned in the worst cell of all, oneself.

- Graham Greene

The question of trust came up with my friend today, and I have spent a good bit of time thinking about what it means to trust someone, and I began to wonder is there someone we can trust with anything, IS there someone I can trust with anything, and the answer I came up with was maybe.

I suppose there needs to be some constraints and common ground already in place, something to build on if you will. By that I mean you just can't walk up to a stranger on the street and decide to trust them and vice versa and everything work out in the end.

I think my friend and I have found our common ground and we are working on that me thinks, even if she doesn't realize that. We are learning to trust each other more and more a little bit at a time.

I do know that when I talk to her a little smile comes on my face, and when we aren't talking or hanging out I wonder what she's doing. I point this out because these are the little things that go to building trust.

There will come times when we are asked by one or the other to trust more and i guess we will cross that bridge when we come to it.
