Shackism #10

I may not be the sharpest crayon in the box... But, I am one of the pretty colors.

Addendum/Modification:

I may not be the sharpest crayon in the box... But, I am well used.

While I may not be the sharpest crayon (see Shackism #3), there is a sharpener on the back of the box. So, I do stay pretty sharp. :)

And the thing about being a pretty color people keep using them and tearing back the wrapper to keep using them, and sharpening them.

An observation about being the sharpest crayon, is that there is a reason they are always sharp... no one ever uses them.

With this Shackism I don't mean using them in the context of Shackism #8, but the kind of using where people love and value you.

The crayon analogy takes me back to a much simpler time in life. Memories of my playroom and the giant boxe of Crayola crayons and how I tried so hard to keep my favourites in pristine condition but I always failed because I couldn't help but use them.

But now the real question is what pretty colour are you?

Aurore: hmmm, i wondered about the word pretty, i know it's somewhat effeminate, and i am not that at all but it is very descriptive and works in this instance.

so what color am i? sometimes red (passionate), sometimes blue (sad), sometimes green (growth), but most of the time i reached for the burnt orange. it's passionate yet warm and inviting.

What color are you?

FYI: Crayola Colors

I think the word pretty is accurate in this instance.

As for what colour am I? I would be Bittersweet (pinkish-peach) very girly with just the right measure of duality.

Better a sharp, short, pretty crayon than a broken one, Shack.

Wow. That metaphor is almost deep enough to wade in.

L: did you break your crayons as a little girl? and what color are you? AND, do i detect a note of sarcasm in your last statement?

The only sarcasm was self-directed, I promise. I loathe pretension and yet sometimes I just really need to smack myself.

But I love crayons. The whole ROY G BIV spectrum. Not surprisingly, I find myself unable to stick with just one color.

It does feel nice to be used once and awhile. Hey are you still a V09?

Lucky: technically speaking yes. And you? Don't suppose I could get "Lucky" do you?

sorry, i couldn't resist the pun. that's what I consider "low hanging fruit" and sometimes, ya just gotta grab it. ya know?
